LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! Recommend it for EVERYONE! I started my puppies training with Karen and using her methods I have 4, yes 4, very well mannered pets. They are all 3 years and under. I have been able to take my energenic labradors to the level of Canine Good Citizenship and Therapy Dog. Training is a constant ongoing part of life and with Karens methods it very easily becomes part of your dogs and your everyday lifestyle. Thabk you Karen. Love Summer, Winter, Keefer, Grease and Jo, too

I'm Emily's cousin and haven't ever posted on a blog so please be patient with me:). I agree with Emily's comments on the "it" factor. Maybe this goes to the other extreme, but I remember when I had been looking everywhere for my wonderdog, I talked about "him" and I had a name picked out for Maverick the minute I saw him. All dogs have a personality of their own that one can't miss--it seems a little crazy even in that short amount of time she didn't pick up on Iggy's. Even if the little baby wasn't getting along with her cats...I would imagine that was one way Iggy could have become more than an "it" in her mind!

I can't fathom referring to either of my dogs or my cat as an "it." Heck, I don't even call them pets; I call them my fur kids. Seems that some people just "get" animals and others don't. Ellen seems like a nice person who meant well, but she doesn't seem to be the kind of person who can connect to a dog.

I could not agree more about praising dogs! My Saint Bernard, Gus, got praise everytime he ever went potty. Let alone all of the praise he got for being handsome, funny, crazy, loving.... He heard "You're such a good boy" at least 15 times a day. Yes, he was also spoiled rotten.

Clara the Coonhound also gets praise every time she goes potty and I assure you it is EVERY time because she won't go outside without me.

I laughed when I read about Miss Clara and our commuication! I have full conversations with her constantly and can always be assured of glacing at her and seeing that Coonhound face worrying about my sanity.

Hi Em,

Thanks for the kind words, to my mind anyone who ever met Divot would understand the value of rescues! To think that she was 10 days overdue to be put down makes me just hug her more - and the fact that they couldn't do it is a testament to her positively sweet self. Chris, the boys and I would be lost without our sweet pooch and we thank you every day for putting us together!

Great site!
